What to wear guide

Wardrobe should be comfortable and reflect who you are. Formal or casual are equally great. Your wardrobe should help create a beautiful story but not be the main focus of your images. You want the focus to be the beautiful faces and family relationships.

Do’s

I recommend shopping for mom first, find something that mom feels beautiful in, then work to coordinate around her.

Muted solid colors look nice, neutrals are always a win!

Look for colors in the same color pallet.

Use multiple textures and cuts (dresses, sweaters, shirts, pants, colored jeans, skirts, layers)

Subtle patterns are okay (plaid, flowers, stripes)

Shoes– I recommend closed toes shoes to avoid cactus thorns. Boots, dress shoes, high heals, all look great.

Wear bug spray!! It’s so frustrating trying to swat away gnats or mosquitoes during the session, it can get kiddos pretty upset.

I am happy to consult you directly on wardrobe if you are interested. Just let me know.

Don’ts

I do not recommend all matching, or wearing the same color shirt, or girls one color boys another.

Avoid bright colors, busy prints, graphic tees, bold patterns.

Remember transition glasses are going to look like sunglasses in your pictures, so find an old pair of glasses or remove them for pictures.

Shoes– no tennis shoes, flip flops, bright colored shoes

Don’t forget to think about your socks!! Trust me they will eventually show in your pictures. Those white tube socks stand out!
